Effective January 1, 2026, the Coast Guard Combat Veterans Association will operate, doing business as the Coast Guard Combat & Expeditionary Veterans Association!  

This change is prompted by the need for the association to appeal to more of those members of the U. S. Coast Guard who served in harm's way, but didn't feel the word "combat" identified the kind of duty they saw during their deployment. It is the hope of the officers and trustees that this amendment will bring forth an increase in membership, to ensure the future of the association. 
It should be noted that the requirements for membership have not changed, in any way. 

We hope that those deployed to Vietnam, Desert Storm/Shield, and to the Global War on Terror will encourage their shipmates to consider membership in the CGCEVA!
